That was already the fourth sunny day in a row. When we have had recently? With such beautiful weather makes it a joy to drive through the beautiful Portugal. Our first stop today was Batalha.
The village was built around the Dominican monastery. The monastery owes its creation to a promise of the king before a major battle. With the aid of an elite British archers on 15 August 1385 of the enemy in the level of Aljubarrota beaten decisively. Portugal was saved, and thus began a 200-year long-running heyday des Landes.

(Do good!). The Unfinished chapels can be reached only from the outside. It's the Barbara Chapel, Chapel of the Madonna of the Rosary, Chapel of the weeping Virgin and St. Michael's Chapel. The first shows the cloister, completed Manueline,

in the fountain pavilion Arab influence is unmistakable.

Many, many photos were taken during our tour. The Manueline style was influenced only in Portugal. This style combines late Gothic and oriental elements, such as plants and exotic animals with elements of navigation, such as anchors and ropes. For me it is the most beautiful romantic woman style at all.

Fátima art history offers little. The modern sanctuary was built after 1917, three shepherd children had an apparition of the Virgin Mary. On 13 May 1928, the foundation stone for the neo-baroque cathedral set.
The forecourt is twice as large as St. Peter's Square in Rome. It is located on the grounds of a specially created parking area for campers. Most come because of the sanctuary, but rather because of the free parking space here. As we know, the Pope will pay a visit to Fatima at Easter.

Next we went west, to .....!
Until then
