0th Day (25/10/2007) Flight Vienna - Beijing
Weather in Austria makes the farewell easy
OS063 The flight, conducted with the OE-LAZ (Boeing 767, here to see on the flight back from Beijing two days later) works smoothly at first. The in-seat video system, but still refuses to start shortly after take-off the monitors but then with the work.
After a few hours of sleep (as well as in economy seating possible) of Mongolia:
Now it would go far to Beijing, but about 300 km before reaching the goal coming from an unfortunate message the cockpit: a dense mixture of fog and smog led to a ban of the airport, but we have enough fuel for holding patterns.
After 90 minutes circling a new message: We may have to land on an alternate airport. Later we learn: The airport is open, for now but may start only aircraft.
on the ground, at least likely to endless loops probably disturb anyone:
good after a full two hours waiting then the message: we have received permission to land and make our way to Beijing. Very pleasing, so we end up on the right airport, even if the connecting flight to Seoul to reach not more likely.
OS63 Boeing 767-3Z9/ER OE-LAZ

Kates Playground Pantys
first Day (26.10.07) Beijing
Upon entering the airport already AirChina staff is waiting with the names of passengers on a Trade-Off Poster - including ours. Looks quite good. :-)
But when the Transferdesk expected Problems because the ticket was on the Asiana flight OZ334 could AirChina not much with it. Fortunately there was a helpful English speaking staff that ran with our tickets to the Lufthansa counter. After 25 minutes he returned with handwritten tickets, which were then exchanged for boarding passes.
Of course we had the departure time of our next flight now missed, but this flight was also affected by the fog and correspondingly delayed.
The flight (CA125) should therefore restart instead of 13:50 by 17 clock:
All had to wait longer ...
... it was it for free drinks ...
... and stacks of food ...
... in various forms, such as this:
The departure time has not yet moved a few times, also the gate changed three times. Finally it was 21:15 (instead of 13:50):
in the aircraft (the B-2067 Air China , a Boeing 777-200) revealed that the number 9 to the business class is . not too bad :-)
The flight to Seoul was short, it's all in the BC seat very comfortable.

Broken Capillaries After Cataract Surgery
second Day (27/10/2007) Seoul
The delayed departure from Beijing and one hour time difference, we arrived at the 27.10. in Incheon. From the airport to Seoul 's down by 2 clock night no more public connection. Since the distance is about 50 km, I feared an expensive taxi ride. After I had finally found an ATM (which you'll find on the arrivals level only once every 500 meters), I asked at the information - without really hoped for a positive response - whether it perhaps is a bus.
put this out that Air China had rented because of the considerable Vespätung buses waiting at a certain exit to passengers. Literally in the last minute we were able to reach our hotel right bus, barely got in, we went even really got going. In the end, that's 3:15 clock when I opened the door.
The next morning, the first view from the hotel room of Ibis Myeong-dong after a short night:
The first objective of Gyeongbokgung (경복궁) was:
Tor (Geunjeongmun ) with guards
detailed views
throne
living room (one of the original 5792!)
this beautiful autumn-Saturday took advantage of course, many Koreans for a trip .. .
On the grounds of the palace also houses the National Museum:
image of the original palace complex (330 buildings, 410.000m ²)
천하 대장군 (Cheonha daejanggun - Korean totems)
lurking just behind the palace walls of the modern age:
in a Korean supermarket think you are on a traditional market from all corners shouting vendors and their wares, whether fish, mushrooms or bananas:
course, there are also dried fish and seaweed ...
... and the inevitable kimchi in Korea :
Rice can be bought like in the 20kg pack
These pictures are from the food section of the Lotte Department stores. The name of this company is neither Japanese nor Korean, but from the German. The founder of Shin Kyuk-Ho was so excited about Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and especially by his "The Sorrows of Young Werther," that he based on Charlotte (often abbreviated to Lotte) his company the same name, albeit in Japanese pronunciation ロッテ "gang" was. [From Wikipedia ]
In the food court of Lotte's a running sushi restaurant that attracted us magically. Unlike in Austria, is not 'all you can eat', but it is billed by the plates (by color or pattern different prices) here. Each place has its own hot water tap for dispensing tea and miso soup is immediately refilled as soon as the bowl is empty.
The subway system is exemplary: each station is numbered, so it is easy even without knowledge of Korean to the goal.
The outputs of the stations are numbered, so that thanks to the area plans in each station, the desired destination (hotel, tourist attraction, office, bus station, etc.) easy to find - what so often at over 12 otherwise outputs would work easily.
The Seoul Metro has about 8 million passengers a day by the way - in the year of 2.5 billion! With the construction only began in 1971, today there are 287 kilometers!
's later went to the viewing platform of the 236.7 meter high Seoul Tower .
As a 10 million city (in the contiguous area are about 22 million people) are expected otherwise, the visibility was affected by smog.
Korail has trains French Development (TGV) in use, called KTX .

third Day (10/28/2007) Seoul / Incheon
This day began with a visit to Olympic Park, 1988 Summer Olympic Games were indeed held in Seoul.
wait what then only all the young girls?
Ah, probably a boy band.
In the Olympic Park's sculptures are a lot of ...
Somewhere to 10 million live Seoul yes.
Confectionery and bakery Graz in the underground passage (these passages run in part at whole streets, such as the Euljiro on the length of 3 metro stations).
The Jogyesa (조계사) temple is the headquarters of the Buddhist Order Jogyejong Korea - very humble, he is surrounded by the modern city.
7-storey pagoda
Nearby the temple is a popular shopping area, here's a look at the Insadonggil (인사동):
rush-hour
Koreans prepare their meals in restaurants seem happy to own: Bulgogi -premises is found very often. Here sadak bulgogi (chicken over glowing coals that are placed in a massive metal pot in the corresponding table-knockout). In addition, you can still find miso soup, vegetables, kimchi, a kind of omelette, chilli sauce, shrimp, etc. To the right are in a salt bed, which is held by a gas stove hot.
serve the many tubes not hood, I assumed at first, but as a hair dryer to keep the charcoal glowing.
