Heute entschädigte Petrus uns für die letzten Regentage. Nur der kalte Wind ließ das Thermometer nicht über 18 Grad steigen. Korkeichen, Oliven- und Feigenbäume , bedeutender Weinanbeu, vereinzelt auch Viehwirtschaft prägen das Bild bis zum Tejo. Kommt man nach Montemor-o-Novo sieht man schon von Weitem die hoch über der Stadt liegende Burgruine, die über einem römischen Kastell errichtet wurde. Am Abhang des Hügels erstreckt sich die Vila Nova, die Neustadt, mit einer weiten, zum Teil noch römischen Ringmauer .
Nach der Überquerung des Tejo fuhren wir durch verbaute Landschaft mit Wohnhochhäusern und Industrieansiedlungen, die immer noch auf den Einzugsbereich einer Weltstadt deutet. Lissabon umfuhren wir auf der Autobahn, die uns vorbei am Flugplatz und am Stadio des Benfica Lisboa in Richtung Sintra führte.
